Initiative
UASI (URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE)
The primary goal of the New Haven Regional Planning and
Preparation Center is to help the New Haven Urban Area Security Initiative
(UASI) municipalities more effectively plan for the management of incidents
of terrorism, mass violence and other disasters. Planned dissemination
of response and recovery information and recruitment of existing community
asset resources to implement a multi-hazard model approach that is informed
regarding how the emotional and psychological aspects of these events
affect a community’s behavioral response with regards to prevention,
response and recovery from the most probable weapons of mass destruction
(WMD), or mass casualty/ disaster incident.
