Current Pamphlet Bibliographies
The following selective pamphlet bibliography is the result of a broad
search of the literature on the topic of children exposed to violence.
Most of these pamphlets are free, but procurement information is available
at the websites for those that are for sale.

Adults and Children Against Violence
Offers many different pamplets, some online.
The
APA
Offers brochures on a wide range of topics. Most of them are downloadable.
Mallee
Sexual Assault Unit This Australian Organization offers a variety
of printable brochures. It is well designed and full of good information.
American Bar Association
offers several printable brochures on domestic violence.
The Bureau for
At-Risk Youth
Provides many print and multi-media resources for sale, covering a variety
of topics for children, parents and educators. Most materials available
in both English and Spanish.
The Center on the Family at University of Hawaii
has compiled a list of printable brochures available in both HTML and
PDF format. The topics addressed are related to a variety of issues concerning
families and children.
Channing-Bete
is a commercial site with pamphlets, booklets and brochures on a variety
of topics. A keyword search on the word "violence" produces a broad range
of choices for purchase in both English and Spanish.
Child
Help USA
provides a variety of resources including printable posters, handouts
and pamphlets in both English and Spanish- as well as
videos for purchase
The Child Welfare
League
offers free online resources, including back-issues of Children's Voice,
Child Welfare Journal and Children's Monitor.
The
Children's Defense Fund
has an online catalog where both faith-based and secular posters, videos
and publications can be purchased.
Connect
for Kids
provides printable articles on many various elements of trauma and children.
The
DC Children's Hospital Handbook
The Children's National Medical Center offers a free, printable handbook
to help caregivers identify signs of distress and trauma in children of
different ages and respond appropriately.
ETR Publishing sells brochures on
violence prevention
and domestic violence.
The
Family Violence Prevention Fund
offers free, printable PDF fact-sheets on several aspects of domestic
and family violence. The FVPF also sells a variety of resources.
JIST
Kids and KIDSRIGHTS
offers free samples and packets for sale available on a wide variety of
topics pertaining to children and families.
Journeyworks
Catalog
offers many different types of pamphlets that are available for a small
fee. The National Crime Prevention Council offers printable brochures
on
community crime prevention,
family violence,
domestic violence
and anger management.
PRP Online
offers pamphlets called "Talking With Your Kids About Violence" And "Talk
With Your Kids About Tough Issues" PRP also offers free samples of up
to
six pamphlets upon request.
Raising Children to Resist Violence: What you Can Do
This public education brochure suggests ways that parents, family members,
and others can help children learn to solve problems and to deal with
emotions without using violence. Developed by the APA and the American
Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
SAMSHA
offers a list of printable fact-sheets, reports and pamphlets on the topic
of children and families. SAMSHA also offers a list of publications
available for purchase.
Violence at Home
An APA printable brochure focusing on solutions to partner violence.
Violence Prevention for Families of Young Children
This brochure teaches violence prevention techniques to parents and caregivers
of young children 0 to 8 years old.
What
Makes Kids Care? Teaching Gentleness in a Violent World
A printable fact sheet offering parents some techniques and suggestions
for teaching their children to become more gentle in their behavior despite
their exposure to violence in their environment.
